Does it ever feel challenging to get through to your partner when you’re in conflict?

Do they become endlessly defensive when you raise an issue?

Or do they bring up unrelated problems they have with you or the relationship?

Are you the defensive one?

Many of you have written in to ask about navigating issues with defensive or conflict-avoidant partners. This episode is my answer.

We’ll cover why clean conflict and fair fighting are critical to successful relationships, what this looks like in practice, and tips for having healthier, more constructive conflict.

I am so excited to have my pal and best-selling author, Ruby Warrington, on the show to talk about being sober curious and living a child-free life.

Ruby actually coined the term "sober curious" and in this conversation, we both share our experience with that and getting sober. Ruby also shares her thoughts on choosing to be child-free, the societal expectations we face as women when it comes to motherhood, and so much more.

I hope it resonates with you as much as it did for me.

**Note: we discuss infertility mid-way through the episode. If this is a tender topic for you, consider skipping this episode. ❤️ **

Today I’m sharing an unbelievable interview with Sebastian Bates, who is a best-selling author, podcast host, retired professional fighter, father, and founder of The Warrior Academy.

Sebastian's story is amazingly inspiring. At 24, he experienced a horrendous BASE jump accident and was told he would never walk again.

He refused to accept that and through a combination of willpower and discipline, he recovered.

He shares his story with us and we dive into the details: his mindset, determination, his background as a fighter and teacher, his passion for helping others, and the impact he is having and wants to have through his philanthropic work at The Bates Foundation.

I hope this interview makes you feel as inspired and motivated as it made me!

As a child, were you responsible for cleaning the house? Cooking for your siblings? Taking care of an adult because they were unable to care for themselves?

Did the adults in your life expect emotional support from you? Did you mediate between family members?

If so, you may have Parentified Child Syndrome.

In this episode, I am breaking down the two types of child parentification, why it happens, symptoms you may have experienced, and steps to take to begin healing.
